As you can imagine, this time of year lends itself to giving numerous short teachings on Avent and its customs. One aspect that comes up is teh Advent wreath. Here is a good quick video on where the Advent wreath came from. It leaves out the explaination of the candles being added as a form of pagan worship to the "sun god." ... seriously! It's awesome how the Church can take local customs and "baptize" them, elevating them to a greater and sacred meaning. Enjoy!
