For those of you following the recent defection of Anglican Bishops who have come home to Rome, this Saturday marks the date which we are told the formal structure for the Ordinariate will be in place. This is destined to be one of the top stories in Catholic News this year, and one for the history books.
What is an Ordinariate? The CNA article linked to below summarizes it well ; "The ordinariate is a jurisdiction within the Roman Catholic Church, in which former Anglicans will preserve many of their distinct liturgical and spiritual traditions while adhering fully to Catholic teaching and authority."
