Headlines: World Youth Day catechism suggests endorsement of 'contraceptive methods'
The headline spread throughout the Blogshpere this morning that the new Catholic Catechism for Youth (YouCat), which was a project that was pushed for by the Holy Father, contains what surmounts to an endorsement of the use of contraception. Click here to read the early story which Catholic News Agency put out. When I read the story I thought, "We need to wait on this one. Something isn't right." Sure enough. We are beginning to receive reports which clarify the situation. There is a problem with the Italian translation, which has currently been suspended until the issue is resolved. There are no problems with the original German text or the English translation set for publication in the U.S.
