Today, the Arkansas Senate voted to override the veto. This becomes one of the strictest laws in the country protecting the life of a unborn child. The reason used for the twelve week mark rather than the sometimes used twenty week point is the idea that an unborn child should have it's life protected from the moment it's heart starts beating, which is at the twelfth week of gestation. This is a great step at reducing abortions in this state and will hopefully set a precedent that other states may follow.
